Laufen retailer spots the mane chance

Laufen the lion is a roaring success in local publicity.

An authorised Laufen retailer came up with a novel way of raising brand awareness, thanks to a local initiative throughout the Bath area.

Bathrooms At No 5, a Laufen retailer based in Bradford on Avon is taking part in a public art exhibition, which each year sees local businesses, schools and charities sponsoring and decorating one of many animal figurines scattered throughout the Bath and Bradford on Avon area.

Lions are this year's chosen animal, with visitors to the town encouraged to pick up a trail leaflet to see how many lions they can spot in a bid to increase tourism and boost business in the area. The staff of Bathrooms At No 5, located at The Shambles, Bradford on Avon, has got in on the action, creating Laufen the Lion.

"The aim of the trail is for people to pick up a trail leaflet and walk around the town finding the names of all the lions. We have, of course, gone along the bathroom theme and have called ours Laufen. He is gorgeous," says Designer Natasha Blanchard.

"The exhibition is a fantastic and different way of creating brand awareness and is also a good bit of fun! Laufen the Lion has been turning heads of all the locals and visitors alike."

The lions are due to be auctioned off for charity later in the year.
