Upscale kitchen and bathroom focus at Decorex 2010

High end KBB companies are targeting interior designers to increase business.

It is our first exhibition and we chose Decorex because we felt it is the only show that really holds any gravitas in the design world - Tony O'Donnell, managing director of Catchpole & Rye

Kitchens and bathrooms are integral parts of a home's interior, reports Sam Fisher. Over 75% of the time at home is spent in both of these rooms so it's key for companies who produce quality interior schemes to ensure these rooms are given a luxurious feel. This year's Decorex will showcase some of the leading kitchen and bathroom products available to interior designers.

Catchpole & Rye produce the largest variety of 100% cast iron baths in the UK, see image 1. It offers made to order, hand finished luxury baths available in a variety of polished or painted finishes.

Using traditional production methods - each bath is cast using the same pouring techniques the foundry has been using for over 100 years - Catchpole & Rye offer not only baths, but a full range of bathroom products from ceramic and marble washbasins through to extravagant La Cage showers and Cherub washstand as well as a wide selection of accessories.

Tony O'Donnell, managing director of Catchpole & Rye said: "We are really excited to be participating at Decorex this year. It is our first exhibition and we chose Decorex because we felt it is the only show that really holds any gravitas in the design world. We believe our offering is second to none and are ready to let everyone in on what we have to offer while, creating awareness amongst designers and the trade regarding what Catchpole & Rye has to offer."

Czech & Speake is another company to offer a range of collections for the ultimate luxurious bathing experience, see image 2. Its bathroom fittings, taps and brassware are ideal for both contemporary and traditional interior settings, domestic or commercial.

Highlights will be shown at this year's Decorex including the launch of two new additions to the sleek and sophisticated Cubist range of deco inspired black lacquered pieces - the Cubist Stool with Tray and the Cubist Tallboy with concealed mirror and handcrafted vanity insert tray.

Metris kitchens from PWS Distributors Ltd, see image 3, will bring its signature look to the show using designs that adapt to any home, blending styling with attention to detail and some clever ideas.

Metris contemporary kitchen furniture is suitable for any interior, whether it be an urban apartment or period townhouse and it will showcase The Metris Wave Curve at Decorex this year. Created from a modular 1200mm curved system, the Wave Curve carries an unexpected level of versatility and has also achieved registered design status.

High end kitchen designer Johnny Grey will be at Decorex in two guises this year. He will use the event to showcase a new kitchen design that will hold a high level of interest for his interior designer clients, and on Monday 27 September at 4.00pm, he will be presenting a seminar on the post-culinary kitchen that looks in detail at how the kitchen has evolved into a multi-use space.
